Each letter sits in a groove on the page, so the groove guides the pen along the correct path. Your child feels the shape and direction of every letter as they trace it, which builds muscle memory far more effectively than dot-to-dot tracing. Children who find handwriting difficult often experience success straight away, and that success builds confidence.
The Eli pen uses special ink that fades within about 20–30 minutes, so your child can use the book again and again. The pen grip included in the set encourages a comfortable, efficient pencil hold.

How to use this cursive practice book at home
- Trace: Spend a few minutes tracing letters in the book as part of the daily homework routine.
- Practise: Once a letter feels familiar, have your child write it independently in a dotted thirds exercise book.
- Transfer: Move the same letters and words into a dotted thirds exercise book or regular lined book, so the skill carries over into everyday writing. Your child will then confidently develop their own personalised cursive style.
Little and often works best. A few minutes every day is more effective than one long session.
