Finding the right people to join the team at Sensory Learning Services is critical to delivering a high quality service to our families. Our team consists of experienced teachers, pre service teachers and speech pathology students. All of our team members are highly professional educators, passionate about working with students with SLD’s and are committed to improving each students’ confidence and ability to access the curriculum.


Hayley Clark – Tutor

Hi, I’m Hayley.

I grew up in the Rockingham area and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Education at Notre Dame University in Fremantle. As part of my degree, I have chosen to specialise in additional needs and education support.

I love cooking, baking, dancing, anything Marvel or Disney related, listening to music, going on adventures and spending time with family and friends, and I especially love family game night!

I have always been passionate about teaching and fostering a child’s creativity and love for learning. My goal is to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment and develop positive relationships with my students. I want to help them attain their greatest potential, whilst being one of their biggest supporters!


Bella Collins – Tutor

Hi, I’m Bella.

I grew up in Perth and went to Penrhos College and I am currently studying teaching at Notre Dame University.

My favourite hobbies include reading and baking sweet treats for my friends and family, and I especially enjoy baking banana bread.

One of my favourite things to do with my family is to watch movies and once or twice a month we all try to see a new movie at our local cinema.

I really enjoy teaching as I love to see students reach their full potential. I think there is nothing more powerful than giving a child a strong education, and providing them with the tools they will need to be thriving and successful human beings. By working with students in a small group setting or one to one, it allows me to really focus on their specific learning needs and cater for them in a way that will be effective.


Ella Hovell – Tutor

Hi, I’m Ella.

I grew up in Perth and went to Mount Lawley Primary School and Perth College. I completed my undergraduate in Psychology in Society and Management at the University of Western Australia. I am currently in my final year of completing a Master of Teaching (Primary) at Edith Cowan University.

In my spare time, I enjoy going to the beach, hanging out with my dog, watching mystery shows, and playing netball and softball.

I really enjoy teaching as I enjoy building relationships with every child and watching them grow in the classroom in both confidence and ability. I love that every day is different and full of exciting activities and opportunities for l earning.

Jess Marshall – Tutor

Hi, I’m Jess.

I grew up in Perth and went to Rossmoyne Primary School and Willetton Senior High School. I am currently completing a Master of Teaching (Primary) at Edith Cowan University while working as an Education Assistant. 

In my spare time I like to try out different art activities, whether it’s painting, pottery, embroidery, or animation – I love it! I also enjoy reading, hanging out with family and friends, and playing team sports.

My favourite part of teaching is building positive relationships with students and encouraging a love for learning. I especially enjoy helping students experience break-throughs in their understanding and seeing them grow more confident in their own abilities.


Mary Mills – Tutor

Hi, I’m Mary.

I grew up in Albany and completed a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English Literary Studies and Indigenous Knowledge, History and Heritage. I moved to Perth in 2023 to pursue further studies in education and am currently in my final year of completing my Master of Teaching Primary at Edith Cowan University.

In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out at the beach, spending time with my family and friends,  watching movies, listening to music and reading books.

I’ve always been passionate about teaching and thrive on building relationships with my students and helping them to reach their full potential. I love the ‘aha’ moments when students finally begin understanding concepts and enjoy making learning interactive and downright fun for everyone involved.


Shayla Newcombe – Teacher

Hi, I’m Shayla.

I grew up in Woodlands and have just completed my Bachelor of Early Childhood Education Degree at Notre Dame University.

In my spare time I love to listen to music, dance, read, crochet and cuddle my Cavoodle, Axel.

What I love about teaching is getting to build positive relationships with the children and getting to watch them learn, grow, develop and build self-confidence. I believe in order to build those relationships we as educators should provide children with fun and supportive learning environments that include their interests and their voices!


Rom Strack – Teacher

Hi, I’m Rom.

I grew up in Rossmoyne and attended the local primary school and Rossmoyne Senior High School. I now live in Woodlands (where my husband grew up) and we have 2 adult children.

I am an experienced primary teacher and I do relief teaching at Holy Rosary and Doubleview Primary School.

  • Hobbies: I love to travel and visit new and exciting places. I also enjoy playing Padel and catching up with my friends for coffee and lunch.
